Drum (1976) Queer Film (F)

DIRECTOR: Steve Carver

Antebellum New Orleans. Mid-19th century. DeMarigny is a wealthy Frenchman who forces enslaved men to fight for his entertainment. He desires Drum (Ken Norton) sexually, but Drum rejects him, leading DeMarigny to harbor resentment.

John Colicos’ DeMarigny is a loathsome excuse for a human being who harbors queer desires.

In the slave revolt, Drum castrates DeMarigny.

The audience erupts in cheers!
