A Different Story (1978) Queer Film (F)

DIRECTOR: Paul Aaron
Both Meg Foster and Perry King are in gay relationships (with Valerie Curtain and Peter Donat). They meet, cohabit, and fall in love, happily ever after—the old you-can-switch-at-any-time scenario.
Their characters are not described as being bisexual. They are a gay man and a gay woman who decide to go straight. King’s character is so superficially queer that it’s insulting. Interestingly, no photos of Foster with Curtain or King with Donat appear in the stills library.
Circles-within-circles: Foster – of the amazing eyes – played Cagney, opposite Tyne Daly’s Lacey, in the first season (six episodes) of Cagney & Lacey (1982). She was replaced by Sharon Gless for the remainder of the series because the powers that be considered her too dykey.
