The big winner of the evening was “All Quiet on the Western Front” with seven awards including Best Picture and Best Film Not in the English Language. It also picked up awards for Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Original Score, and Best Sound.
The other big winner was “The Banshees of Inisherin” picking up a total of three awards including Best Original Screenplay, Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan), and Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon).
“Elvis” picked up Best Actor (Austin Butler), Costume Design, and Makeup & Hair.
It was a disappointing evening for both “Tar” and “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, each film picked up just one award – Best Actress for Cate Blanchett and Best Editing, respectively.
Charlotte Wells won Best New British Director for “Aftersun”, “Babylon” won for best production Design, “Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio” won for Best Animated Film while “Navalny” won for Best Documentary. and “Avatar: The Way of the Water” won for Special Visual Effects
“The Fabelmans” and “Top Gun: Maverick” both left empty-handed..
